This is complimentary process used in addition to Tribonite. The surface which is infused with carbon and nitrogen during Tribonite process is modified by Tribox which converts part of the compound zone to oxides. The spinel oxides improve the corrosion resistance of the treated parts significantly.
The salts which are used are operated around 400 to 425⁰ C.
